Dear readers, today we want to tell you about a legend, not just any one, but the legend of footwear. It’s about luxury sneaker designer David Tourniaire-Beauciel, the creative mind behind Balenciaga’s Triple S or Maison Margiela’s Tabi boot (just to name a few). Yet, as famous and renowned as he may be in the industry, who would have thought that the designer is also the head of an independent label known as Shoes 53405?
A pleasant discovery that surprised even us at Wait. The brand, albeit recently born, is based on an idea consolidated long ago but feasible only now thanks to current advanced technologies: that of proposing a shoe equipped with air bubbles and a wedge sole.
Each shoe model boasts high quality technical materials and purely Made in China production, as he proudly states: “… it is in Asia that true knowledge resides”. It is precisely among these models that the latest version launched in these days is also included. It’s called Hik’Air, the boot that is the result of a mix of different references. There is mountaineering, motocross, the desert and as if the military call were not enough; all elements that come together to give life to this silhouette dominated by warm shades of light brown. To give that massive and sturdy look, there is the Bump’Air platform sole signed by the brand.
In short, a shoe that thanks to a technical, functional but above all futuristic design is perfect for a walk between mountains and rocks, in some remote place, perhaps even far from this terrestrial world. A shoe that we would probably sport if we had the chance to explore a planet like Mars. Try to construct this image in your mind, or directly admire the work of art recreated by the French illustrator Apollo Thomas. A graphic masterpiece animated by colors, aliens and explorers.
The time to travel and explore other planets has not yet come, but no one prevents us from venturing with the imagination. And to delight this journey even more, you need the right music. But the brand took care of this and released a drop-themed online mixtape, “TAKE A HIKE”, on Spotify. A “mix of new and old school sounds perfect for any adventure”.
The Hik’Air sneaker can be purchased on the official website of Shoes 53405 at a price of $ 500.
