Originality, passion and freedom are the pillars for the realization of ROD Almayate jewels.
ROD is an ambitious project conceived by Roberto Ferlito, high-hand fashion designer, and Diego Diaz Marin, borderline and irreverent photographer; they’re respectively creative director and art director of ROD Almayate.
No censorship, no submission to the marketing or market logic, no stereotype of beauty to follow: those are the ingredients that brought the two creatives to the success.
The brand was initially born as SCHIELD, a jewelry brand designed in Florence, which name and aesthetic changed subsequently to the moving of the two designers in the south of Spain. Despite that, they’ve maintained the craftsmanship and the made in Italy, which have always characterized the products.
ROD stands for “Roberto or Diego”, the two founder’s names; Almayate, instead, is the country name in which Diego raised up. Once again, we found them to be ironic against the fashion system: in particular, on brands who put cities names, as New York or Milan, near their name. This way they decided, in a provocative way, to include the one of a small Spanish country.
The jewels, as the advertising campaigns shoot by Diaz Marin, don’t take care of censorship; this aesthetic makes the brand more than a line, but a lifestyle which goes behind the fashion system.
