Live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on the night between 14 and 15 March Italian time, the 63rd edition of the 2021 Grammy Awards was held.
Incredible performances and high-quality moments of style on the famous red carpet, which despite the restrictions and all the necessary precautions, have been able to rekindle the spotlight and recreate the magical Hollywood atmosphere. Undisputed protagonists: the stars with their fabulous as well as unpredictable whimsical looks, and obviously the grand maison that sign the clothes, as always sources of inspiration and hotbed of fashion trends. In short, even in the difficult and complex moment that we are all experiencing, the music never stops and so do the Grammy Awards, under the banner of glamor in its purest and most tangible meaning.
But let’s take a look at the best looks of the evening together!
We begin our review with the undisputed Queen: Beyoncé, winner of as many as 28 awards, entered the Guinness Book of World Records for being the artist with the most Grammys in the world. The pop star recalibrates the concept of feminine strength by showing off a black leather mini dress by Schiaparelli, Catwoman gloves with a lot of gold and scratchy nails incorporated. To complete the look, a fluffy effect hairstyle with wavy curls.
On such an occasion, sequins and transparencies obviously can’t be missing. Fortunately, singer Dua Lipa thinks about it as she exhibits three looks in fuchsia shades by Atelier Versace. Straight hair, divided by a rigorous central line and bold effect eyebrows, evoke the style of a young Cher.
As they say at this time of the year: “Good morning it’s Spring!” To inaugurate the spring season there is, in fact, Taylor Swift who appears in a dress covered with flowers by Oscar de La Renta, underlining that bucolic and folkloristic soul for which she is known. Not surprisingly, she won the Best Album with Folklore awards.
Dizzying neckline for Doja Cat who chooses a Roberto Cavalli dress with a second skin effect with black inserts at the top and then opening into a volume of apple green feathers. Irregular bangs and smokey-eyes overall recreate an extravagant look, perhaps a little too rich in details, but which certainly does not go unnoticed.
Meghan Thee Stallion takes the Grammy stage, winning the award for best emerging artist. She wrapped in a Dolce & Gabbana orange highlighter dress with maxi bow on the back. If you notice a sparkle, it will surely be Chopard‘s cascade of 222 carats diamonds.
There are those on the red carpet who prefer trousers and sneakers like Billie Elish. In a Gucci ensemble from head to toe, complete with a mask and manicure decorated with the same pattern, the cantate always manages to capture attention.
Gothic look for Phoebe Bridgers in Thom Browne with a skeleton dress studded with crystals and beads. What can I say … the star will be preparing for next Halloween.
Even Noah Cyrus, little sister of Miley Cyrus, walked the red carpet with an opulent and scenographic dress by Schiaparelli Haute Couture, remarking with her elaboration the stage presence of the maison. At times you get the feeling as if the star had rushed out of bed, tangling in the crumpled sheet, however don’t forget that Schiaparelli is art and not for everyone.
We continue with Lizzo who has chosen two lamé dresses in pastel shades of pink and aqua green in a riot of flounces and drapes, designed by Balmain.
Pop star Jhene Aiko chooses a Pretty Princess look by Monsoori. She wrapped in a cloud of pink tulle that makes her look like a giant and romantic corolla. But go google, because you will notice a certain resemblance to the dress worn by Rihanna at the 2015 Grammys.
You may be wondering but where are the men’s looks? None were worth mentioning, except for one. One and only Harry Styles. Winner of the Best Pop Solo Performance award with his song “Water Melon”, he sported two looks. Now faithful to Alessandro Michele, he opens the ceremony with a black leather suit combining a green feather boa. Elemneto that returns in the second look, accompanied by a tweed patterned jacket and sweater and brown velvet trousers, with a vintage 70s style. Suitable or not for the evening, whatever Harry Styles wears inevitably acquires charm.
