"Welcome to Stockholm": the new capsule collection by Acne Studios

Under the cloudy and dull sky of the Frihamnen port area, the Acne Studios brand presents the new capsule collection, transporting us inside a spontaneous portrait of the Swedish city. Entitled “Welcome to Stockholm”, the Spring Summer 2021 collection appears characterized by a contemporary graffiti motif that pays homage to the hometown and in particular to the creativity of the young inhabitants of the metropolis.

Although the Swedish label has always been characterized by a fairly abstract multidisciplinary approach, a “high-concept” design, it has never been averse to more ephemeral and less structured artistic manifestations. The intent was, in fact, to represent an element now present in all urban areas of the world, while defining the multitude of youth cultures, under a natural and non-artificial key. The photographer Anders Edström perfectly captured this casual approach, this casual mood.

For this reason, the graphics printed on the collection appear under a particular effect that creates the illusion of a paint that is still fresh. The selection of clothing includes: long-sleeved mesh tops, jeans, jersey sweatshirts and accessories, such as scarves and oversized tote. The protagonists of the graphics and depicted in the form of tags are the characters of “City Rat”, proposed in shades of lilac and chalk, pastel blue for “Beat Cat”, and finally “Underground Bear” in brick red.The collection is already available online, on the brand’s website. The price range is on average high, the most expensive item is the tote bah at a price of €300.
