Discover, create, design, and finally merge. This is the path that Roman designer and founder of Poshead, Antonella Falasca followed. Coming from a family of tailors specialized in fabrics distribution, after studies at the European Institute of Design in Rome, opens the creativity that distinguishes her by kicking off her project in 2012.
Antonella, you come from a family that since generations, works in the fashion world. What pushed you to follow the tradition while creating a product of your own, or Poshead?
Growing up in a family established itself in the industry is not easy, since childhood I have always felt the need to be free from the friendly schemes but I have never neglected the importance of the teachings of our tradition: to create a unique product, has never existed before, should be the finish line of each designer.
Glasses and bags are essential accessories in the wardrobe both male and female. How did you decide to match them?
Bags collect the secrets and the most personal effects of a woman, knowing them means you have fully understood the spirit of each of us. Glasses, however, are a way to see them and understand them.
For this reason you have created an agender collection?
The basic idea is to create a cross product. However, certain special collections are purely female. Also, Poshead concept is universal, meant for man and woman together.
The production is entirely made in Italy. What is for you this issue and, in general, how do you think is estimated today in the fashion industry itself?
Made in Italy is a concept now extremely inflated especially in this world. I do not care much the title outright, I am more careful about craftsmanship and exclusivity of all my creation. Be able to meet these two requirements, the made in Italy becomes a natural consequence. Unfortunately our local industry was not able to protect its know-how. And on this aspect, we should think very deeply.
What are Poshead future projects?
Poshead is expanding and will touch the areas very close to that of the bags without altering the basic idea that created the brand. I can not anticipate too much though: soon you will have a way to tap the new creations.
