Vans for Fall / Winter 2021 is back with a new collection: the ‘Tartan Daze’.
Take the iconic silhouette of the Vans brand, then mix different graphics and materials together and that’s it. This time the shoes are inspired by punk design and the choice fell on three models: the Old Skull Zip, the Sk8-Hi and the Authentic.
The Old Skull Zip features several contrasting mixed materials, including leather, denim and tartan. The side band has an accordion stitch also in contrast, studs on the back and a zipper to allow for a better fit. The Sk8-Hi and Authentic models are also reworked with mixed materials, pointed studs on the heel but a dark green leather lining.
Tartan Daze focuses on a classic silhouette but playing on the contrast. The punk touch given by the studs is an example of how a detail can give such an iconic and simple shoe a new look.
