To celebrate the 40th anniversary of BMX and the great impact it has had on youth culture, Vans presents a unique footwear and clothing collection.
Vans, the original sports brand, began supporting BMX in 1979, becoming the first brand in favor of sport and for the 40th anniversary of BMX, Vans presents an entire line for men and women that takes inspiration from the heyday of the ramp performance.
Vans rubber waffle soles have been shown to guarantee a great grip on the pedal and have become the choice for BMX riders since the late 1970s. For this honorary collection, we find the Sk8-Hi and Era as the basis for a complete line of sneakers. The shoes are characterized by the classic combination of canvas and suede and each panel has a graphic check style available in three variants: green, white and blue. Each sneaker model is finished with a side embossed print.
Inspired by the classic lifestyle silhouettes of BMX and the historic graphics of Vans, the collection also includes eight new clothing and accessories.
The proposals in a feminine key include: a BMX jacket reminiscent of a satin bomber jacket with a series of Vans logo executions to give the jacket the right vintage touch; and the comfortable fit of the BMX crop top, made in heavy cotton jersey and decorated with a treatment of the front and back logo. The trousers have a tapered leg with side panels, silk-screened graphics and a checkered internal elastic waistband. A BMX backpack with a resistant polyurethane fabric with multiple screen-printed prints and a patch completes the female line.
For men, Vans presents a BMX Off The Wall pant with long leg details matching with the BMX Off The Wall Anorak with contrasting sleeves and front pocket detailing.
The Vans collection for the 40th anniversary of BMX will be available in Vans stores and online starting in August.
