As we announced a few weeks ago, the Calvin Klein brand would collaborate with the creative Heron Preston for a mysterious collection. A news shared on social media by both stakeholders, on which, however, there was little more info. Well, dear readers, today we can tell you something more because the long-awaited collaboration has finally been revealed. Initially born as a sort of consultancy and then turned into a real partnership with one of the most fashionable designers of Gen Z; the entire line reveals the identity of the American label mixed with the streetwear style of the San Francisco artist.
In short, a new fashion page after the unforgettable chapter of Raf Simons. An arduous task that Heron Preston has brilliantly managed to accomplish. To make sure you don’t miss anything, an exceptional cast animates the new advertising campaign. Top models Kaia Gerber and Ashley Graham, rappers Lil Uzi Vert and NAS, skateboarder Stevie Williams, actress Jordan Alexander, DJ Pedro Cavaliere, photographer Renell Medrano and finally Preston’s partner Sabrina Albarello, bring Calvin Klein’s infamous 90s commercials to life.
But what about the collection? Four reasons make it super interesting. First of all, it is essential. Once again, Calvin Klein’s minimal imprint is the common thread between garments such as the iconic jeans or white t-shirt and the underwear characterized by classic but innovative silhouettes. It’s what we call less is more, where simplicity and attention to detail are still able to convey a message of contemporary appeal.
However, there is a refinement given by the hints of workwear mixed with soft tones, never too bright, ranging from blue to white, to brick. One example is the sweatshirt – Heron Preston’s favourite piece of the collection – built as if it were an outerwear garment where you have the illusion of having two garments on top of each other. Another advantage is the unisex approach that revolves around the whole line.
The clean design and neutral cuts completely abandon gender identity. And finally, the last factor, perhaps the most important in view of the current environmental emergency; is sustainability. In addition to raw denim, all the jersey in the collection is made of organic or recycled cotton.
Something tells us that the collection of more than 100 pieces will be very appreciated. We do not hide from you that the prices are not really affordable but not too high. A sweatshirt, for example, is around €179 while the classic underwear suit is around €80. So enjoy the collection, available from today on the website!
