Kim Jones, creative director of Dior Homme, who has always been fascinated by collaborations and mesh ups for his collections, announces for the SS22 a co-designing project that sees Travis Scott approaching the world of high-end creative design for the first time with a joint direction and full responsibility for the Dior men’s collection.
It is not the first experiment on the design front for the artist, just think of the latest fashion-art hybridizations with his Cactus Jack record label and the capsule merchandising for the launch of the Astroworld album, it is not even the first approach to collaborations for him with fashion brands on a larger scale, such as the millionaire partnership with Nike and the most recent editorial that portrays him as the protagonist in the second issue of Issued By Bottega last week (we talked about it here).
However, being at the helm of a collection of one of the most important high fashion brands is certainly a project beyond all expectations even for the rapper who never ceases to surprise us. After the very successful experiments with Supreme, Kaws and Nike, the Kim Jones and Travis Scott collection is unveiled. Will the integration of the American rapper’s creative flair be enough to make Dior’s SS22 the next IT collection for celebrities?
