Jonathan Anderson talks about his latest creations by opening the box containing the men’s spring/summer and women’s resort 2021 collections with us.
With a video on the web, the designer presented his collection in the form of postcards and posters, enclosed in a box between fabric samples and flowers. By involving all the senses in a sweet and nostalgic way, Anderson sent to the press a box wrapped in a piece of fabric, to recall the emotion of unwrapping and discovering a gift delivered by mail.
After the lockdown experience and the consequent social distancing, Jonathan Anderson has decided to use dummies instead of models for his namesake brand, to show his latest clothes to the public. The caricatures, as the face of the mannequins, recall the boyish and eccentric character that characterized the very first collections of the brand, including the faces also in the form of masks inside the pack.
The collection, with a home-made aesthetic, combines practicality and playfulness, with patchwork, pom-poms and combinations of bright colors such as yellow, blue, orange, and green. We also see a return to mid-century silhouettes, with elongated coats that follow the lines of the body mixing masculine and feminine.
