The digital London Fashion Week expected from 19 to 23 February has also ended. It may have been a bit rainy London weather, the Brexit and the historical period, but even the most glamorous London event seems to have worn a melancholy soul. However, unlike the event in the Big Apple which doesn’t seem to have had a lot of spotlight, London Fashion Week ran successfully despite difficulties of this time and all the designers who have been attending for years have remained loyal to the event. The only exception for Victoria Beckham, who anticipated the presentation of her new collection by a few days.

Simone Rocha unleashes her creativity and transports us to the Victorian era. Her models look fragile but at the same time have a punk rock soul. The atmosphere is also a contrast of senses; aseptic white is popular in contrast with meters of dark black tulle, garments with a bondage effect and some floral details to not give up on romanticism.

A style that faithfully refers to the beloved and bizarre Westwood style, which this year has focused on a colorful and ornamental Rococo. Prints are inspired by the mesmerizing frescoes by Jean-Honorè Fragonard and Gian Battista Tiepolo.

Erdem collection, on the other hand, is a declaration of love without filters. The atmosphere is dreamy and graceful, the dresses are inspired by the world of dance, especially ballet. Feathers, tulle, precious embroidery and floral prints are the focus of these dresses.

Emilia Wickstead‘s collection also continues along the same line of thinking. The designer was inspired by three great contemporary love films: Teorema by Pasolini, Io sono l’amore by Guadagnino and La finestra sul cortile by Hitchcock. A shocking pink set seems to want to transport us to a space where only love and femininity emerge.

Fashion East is the brand that will make us remember what London Fashion Week designers are made of. Designer Lulu Kennedy is a tireless experimenter and her brand is pure energy, artistic research and sensuality. The clothes suspend us in an indefinite and fascinating temporal space.

That melancholy and fascinating aspect of this edition belongs above all to Preen by Thornton Bregazzi brand. Through a video presentation, the brand told rural and nostalgic English landscapes, with transversal, glamorous but unstructured garments, with an ancient flavor that smacks of home. Protagonists are the enveloping coats and fabrics with floral fabrics, exclusively made with sustainable processes.
