Miu Miu’s show by Miuccia Prada, for the Fall Winter 2021 2022, was held near Cortina D’Ampezzo (Veneto, Italy).
Set against a breathtaking background at 2.700 meters above sea level; the blue of the clear skies and the pure white of snow covered landscapes, were the only things surrounding that hypnotic moment. Ski runs were deserted and the only exclusive thing that could be heard in the deep silence was the melody of “Symphony N.9”, by the composer Dvorak. The atmospheric tune was playing among the rocky walls of the Dolomites. Models walked on a 150 meteres catwalk long made with recycled wood, which was situated in the midde of the white snow and the unspoiled wood unless exclusively inhabited by fauna.
The “Miu Miu Mountain Club” collection reflects the fairytale landscape in each detail; mountain is the ‘outdoor’ location that many brands have chosen for own season’s collection this year, but Miu Miu has only managed it ‘thanks to its strong femininity and contemporary elegance of the glamorous and cosmopolitan Miu Miu woman, who personifies herself in the brand.
Colorful balaclavas, furry after-boots, oversized gloves, track boots and padded bodysuits are just some of the key items. They manage to emerge for the bright and pastel colors, for the fun prints embroidered with small crystals and fabrics such as crochet, wool and the teddy-bear, that are typical in the high altitudes life.
Despite Miuccia Prada’s initial goal of creating a clear contrast between the two dimensions, which are the sporty and solitary style and the lonely mountain, to resalt the items, they have given life at a harmonic fusion of the two worlds.
