Just a few days ago we talked about a possible collaboration between Gucci and Balenciaga. The many rumors were revealed by Alessandro Michele in the presentation of the new collection with the short film “Aria”.
What might have seemed just passing voices or a distant dream have become reality. Gucci presented the new collection “Aria“, in the short film of the same name, to celebrate 100 years of the heritage of the Florentine maison. A digital show full of styles, stylistic and iconographic references (as in the era of Tom Ford) and more current contaminations, such as that of Balenciaga and his Demna Gvasalia.
Alessandro Michele strikes again, demonstrating once again his immense ability to carry on the history of Gucci adapting it to the aesthetics of today and the future. It is no coincidence that the digital show was directed by Floria Sigismondi, author of many music videos by pop artists of the new millennium, in an equally pop location: a corridor full of cameras and flashes. Not to mention the soundtrack of the show: a compilation of songs where the word Gucci appears. The show then moves to a much more romantic and fantasy location, with peacocks, white horses, mystical figures, where the models run in what is defined by Michele himself “air party“!
If the only news of a possible collaboration has created a hype not indifferent, the confirmation in the presentation with iconic garments and exceeded expectations! The past, the red velvet and Tom Ford suits, combined with the history of Gucci, its monogram and its eccentric fabrics with the contemporary and urban touch of the exaggerated lines of Balenciaga have created a collection without equal and soon unforgettable.
Thanks to: Gucci
