Tremaine Emory is the new creative director of the brand Supreme.
The VF Corporation purchased the label founded by James Jebbia in 2020 and declared it would achieve a turnover of 600 million by fiscal year 2022. Therefore, the choice of Emory as the new creative director a few days away from the presentation of the spring/summer 2022 collection does not seem to be random at all.
The designer, who worked in the past with Virgil Abloh and Kanye West, is currently one of the most promising faces in the streetwear world, thanks to successful collaborations with famous brands such as Levi’s and Converse. His work experience is certainly necessary for a difficult task like the one he was assigned to, as Supreme has never had a real creative direction until now. Emory is already working on the new collections, through which it will have to revolutionize the brand while keeping its nature.
The designer, however, will not only take care of the direction of Supreme, continuing to manage in parallel Denim Tears, the brand created by him.
