I was only 9 years old when I first saw a video of Michael Jackson, it was Smooth Criminal on MTV, he had an elegant white dress and danced in the most intriguing way I had ever seen.
It was the birth of the first of a long series of platonic loves!
I mean, melancholy aside, Michael Jackson will be forever the King of Pop, and his style has influenced entire generations.
For this reason today I will propose outfits inspired by two of his music videos.
“Black or White” – everyday look
This video is HISTORY.
With Guinness World Records ratings, the text and images are an anthem against racism.
Our King is dressed in black and white, with his hair and his light shirt moved by the wind, his image is slender and elegant.
Street Proposal
The white shirt is in cotton (100%) by Burberry with the inscription on the pocket, while the T-shirt with the V neck is by Save Khaki United.
The skinny black jeans with a worn effect and leather inserts are AMIRI.
For what concerns accessories, the socks by Stussy (of course white) to be combined with a beautiful pair of loafers in black leather by Ann Demeulemeester.
The final touch is sunglasses with grey lenses and a black frame by Retrosuperfuture.
“Billie Jean” – evening look
Michael here was still very young, but his style was already very strong.
The song’s lyrics and story are inspired by one of the singer’s many groupies, who claimed to have had a child with him.
The look “to go and have a party”
When this bad time is over and we return to our beloved movida, we would have had plenty of time to think about how to dress.
In reworking the look of Michael I thought just one of those nights when you go out with friends for clubs!
The main piece is the pants in black leather (as for the video) by Bally, with a contrasting super lapel.
The pink shirt with applications by Raf Simons is oversized and has a slightly pointed collar.
Instead of using the bow tie, I wanted to shoot the red with a sweater unisex high neck by Ambush, to be sprouted under the shirt.
As for accessories: white socks are matched with a pair of shoes in black and white by Camper, with a classic shape but with a sporty sole.
