STYLE ICONS: Madonna 80's inspired looks

Madonna, queen of pop and style icon, with her music manages to raise me even on the worst days.

As a child, I always imitated her steps in music videos and dreamed of being like her: glamorous and confident.

That’s why today I would like to offer you outfits inspired by what Madonna wore in two video clips that have forever marked the history of pop music and culture.

“Who’s that girl?” – everyday look

There is a premise to do: our Pop Queen knows how to be feminine while wearing men’s clothes and the boyish style seems to have been invented especially for her.

For most of the video, we see her in men’s clothes, oversized gray jacket, Homburg hat, shorts in pendant, and low black boots.

For this reason, the white silk cocktail dress, which will wear shortly after, leaves us breathless!

“Urban” remake

The blazer is in a grey checked wool by Vetements, oversized and long on the sides, just like the one in the video. The particularity of this jacket is the shoulder straps 80′ and the sleeves with slits up to the cuff.

Instead of matching it with a pair of shorts in pendant, I wanted to ride the wave of the latest vintage trends, selecting a pair of bikers in denim by RE/DONE.

The body is La Perla, with the lace cup that makes it all sexier!

For what concerns accessories, from the bottom to the upper, I’ve selected cowboy boots by Cèline in black leather with Cuban heels, the high belt by Alexander McQueen and finally the Fedora hat by Paul Smith in woven.

“Express Yourself” – evening look

Madonna, glittering in a long green satin silk dress with her back half-naked, holds a black cat and has the melancholy air of old love movies.

Romantic proposal

The green night silk dress by Haider Ackermann can be matched with “Eiffel Tower” sandals by Vetements or simply with a pair of boots, in both cases, you will look dreamy.
