We assume that I adore both the flat shoes and the stiletto heels.
But this is not the point. The question is that such a media strategist named Florie Hutchinson, last May, proposed to Apple to update his list of emojis by introducing a ballerina shoe to give women the “alternative” of a shoe without heels, on a keyboard of the phone.
To date, the proposal has been confirmed, so much so that, with the latest update of the emoji on the operating system iOS 12.1, Apple allows you to choose a flat shoe instead of a décolleté heel 12 flaming red.
So far nothing strange if it were not that, as for all things, if we do not make controversy over we are not happy.
Browsing some news on the web, I even read articles in which this new emoji has been elevated as a symbol of feminism understood as a “who said that to be sexy you have to wear your heels?”.
Nobody. Trust me, NOBODY tells you.
NOBODY requires you to be sexy. YOURSELF is the only one that can decide how to be sexy, and that’s it.
And above all I want to clarify one thing. A woman is either sensual or not, regardless of the shoe. And although I’m the first one in a little bit of heels, I even bring the dog to the park, I admit that there are super sexy women in sneakers, as well as truck drivers on heels 12.
But from here to take advantage of a dancer on a keyboard of a chat to shout to feminism even with the slogan #MeeToo against abuses against women in the workplace, it seems exaggerated.
Luckily we are in 2018, we have gender equality, many of us can choose to go to work in sneakers and still feel that women complain about the “discomfort of walking on the heels”.
It is true that some jobs, as well as other situations, require us to wear the heel so that we “suffer” every time, but now I would like to ask you a question to think about: would you prefer to stay 8 hours on heels or in TAILLEUR long trousers , shirt, tie and blazer with 40 degrees in the shade the first week of August by metro in Milan?
Every summer I look at them. And the more I watch them dripping with sweat in silence, the more I’m happy to be on my heels.
So both in real life and now also through a keyboard, each of us is free to choose the flat shoes rather than the stiletto. So be free to do what is best for you according to your tastes, thoughts and ideals, but let me tell you one thing: NO TO FREE POLEMICS. And I’m talking about polemic, not feminism. Because true feminism is something else and not just wearing an insecurity rather than an ideal.
In any case, I take the opportunity to publish my WISHLIST of flat shoes and heels for this season.
