THE SINGER AND THE BRAND WELCOME THE COLLIER SCHORR PHOTOGRAPHER IN A CAMPAIGN ON WOMEN’S RIGHTS
There is no talk of violence in the NOW IS HER TIME campaign by Adidas x Pharrell Williams. The #metoo and the other movements are not contemplated. In fact, the focus is on women and their empowerment. The project aims to promote women’s emancipation in the world through the power of representation and voices that are not afraid of being heard.
To formalize the sense of the collection is the photographer Collier Schorr, known for having a career behind him whose themes concern sexuality and gender identity. Here Schorr makes shots that are an invitation to reflect, a portrait of the most charismatic women of our time and of the allies who support them.
Not just female figures. Rather. Even the masculine ones find their space. Pharrell’s new collaboration with adidas Originals is told through the point of view of women from various backgrounds and the men who support them in their struggle.
NOW IS HER TIME BY ADIDAS X PHARRELL WILLIAMS: THE PROTAGONISTS
In addition to clothing, fluorescent sneakers, the real protagonists are, as already mentioned, committed men and women of our century. The faces of the change chosen for the campaign are: Patrisse Cullors, community organizer and co-founder of Black Lives Matter; Nadya Okamoto, leader and founder of the non-profit organization period.org; singer-songwriter Syd; Reggie Yates, writer, director and presenter; architecture technologist Iddris Sandu; the surfer Keala Naihe; Sana Azim, filmmaker and human rights activist; Tyra Mitchell, mother, artist and founder of the Art Mom project; Isabela Rangel Grutman, model and co-founder of Style Saves; the models Sara Cummings and Kadija Diawara; dancers Sheena Cain and Sophia Parker.
