The Nike Air Zoom Spiridon, released in 2003 and designer by Steven Smith seems to be the flagship silhouette for the collaboration between Nike e Stussy.
The two companies have focused on two very specific models, the Air Zoom Spiridon KK and Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2, with the clear intention of drawing on the archive of the past to create new inspirations.
The first release took place on March 3, on the Nike website and in some selected retailers, the model in question was the Spiridon Cage 2, produced in two different colors: “Fossil” and “Pure Platinum“, also accompanied by a line of clothing.
Both very particular and different, if in the “Fossil” we find a much more sober appearance, characterized by a beige canvas upper enriched with black details, in the “Pure” Platinum” we have a much more striking appearance, characterized by a gray upper mesh and silver, fully reflective.
Needless to say, the two models sold out immediately, at the moment they can only be purchased on the secondary market.
But the partnership does not seem to end here, in fact just over a month from the first release, precisely on April 13th, we notice the launch of two new colors that always feature the Spiridon Cage 2, the “Smoke Gray” and the “Track Red” released on the Nike website, and unlike the previous ones, still available in various sizes.
The two shoes in question certainly do not go unnoticed, given the silver colors and the very bright red, defined in fact by Nike itself: “The essence of the new millennium at its height of style”.
The surprises do not end, Nike and Stussy have decided that 2020 would be their year, in fact after the success of the Spiridon Cage 2, they want to add a new chapter to their story.
According to the page of leaks @py_rates there are other sneakers, which see Spiridon KK as protagonist, this time.
Revisited in a vintage key thanks to the addition of a very particular element, the rubber superstructure of the Nike Air Kukini, originally released in 2000, which completely envelops the upper.
We are not yet aware of the launch data, stay tuned to find out more.
