At the beginning of the 90 the war of pumps broke out in the world of sneakers. We are talking about the contrast between Reebok with The Pump and Nike, who replied with model Air Pressure, a shoe through a special pump allowed to inject air inside of the shoe, by attaching to a rear valve.
Needless to say, the commercial success, in that historical parenthesis was all of Reebok, whose technology was certainly simpler, more user-friendly and it was declined on going models, including the legendary Victory used by Michael Chang, defeating Ivan Lendl.
The model of Nike but truly represented one of the most futuristic shoes that have ever been seen. Indeed, if we consider that the Nike Air Mag are never really out on the market, these are probably the most futuristic shoes ever made from the house of Beaverton. The mechanism, probably too complicated and certainly expensive, but it was no longer replicated and continued.
Today, however, ‘the news is fulminant and did splash adrenaline in the veins of collectors and those who may have had the pleasure of owning the original model (no one who today are under 35 I would say).
The official launch is 14th january and the price will be $ 300. But it is money well spent, because certainly the price is likely to rise much in the market of ‘resale’.
