First version of the Nike Fuelband, launched in the U.S. in January 2012, marked a turning point in the spread of portable gadgets that act as a pedometer, heart rate monitors, blood pressure monitors, hygrometers and so on and so forth, passed recently by niche phenomenon to trendy accessories thanks to ever more eye-catching and very fashion details. In particular, the Fuelband measure daily the level of physical activity, as well as the steps taken and calories burned. But it is also a clock , a feature that gave a decided advantage over its competitors, such as the UP Jawbone bracelet which we discussed recently. The Fuelband entering its second version, keeps the same shape, but with the introduction of Bluetooth 4.0 uses very little battery to stay connected to your smartphone. Also becomes social, allowing you to map activities, and share notes or photographs. Finally Nike has made the experience of Jawbone, and has an integrated sound recorder of sleep for snorers hardened, that allows you to take measures necessary to improve the quality of rest, a factor that can affect about our daily activities. Thanks to a partnership with Apple, and thanks to the new iPhone 5S presented in gold coloring, the new Fuelband will be available in a limited edition for the Metalux collection also in “rose gold”, starting from November 21 from selected Nike retailers for $169 , about €125. It looks really cool.
