Also this year Moncler Genius decides to unleash all the flair possible and present the collection in collaboration with british designer Simone Rocha, as we anticiped here.
A dreamlike video directed by Petra Collins has been realized; in it there are images of girls with ethereal beauty, pale complexion and very long hair; very similar to Botticelli’s Venus.
They wear decidedly oversized tulle dresses and embroidered dresses with floral prints, all revisited in a Moncler key; the highlight of the Genius collection is the trench coat reinterpreted through rounded and voluminous shame but without forgetting a touch of extreme femininity.
The atmosphere that runs through the video is certainly inspired by the Shakespearean drama seasoned with a touch of Federico Fellini in a dark version; the models who go through this dream, which soon turns into a nightmare and vice versa, dialogue with their alter ego that is depicted through a light that illuminates the clothes worn; it lights up intermittently while our Venus laughs diabolically in the face of the evil that wants to overpower her.
A little Lady Macbeth with a baby face who wears Moncler designer clothes and at the end of the dream wakes up in a frightened dance hall.
In short, more than a short film to present a collection, it can be defined as a true all-female masterpiece that has impressed the viewer more than any other installation at Magazzini Raccordati in Milan; after all, Shakespeare is like black, he looks good on everything!
