Mike Amiri’s creative voice out of the chorus lunch his new collection with a free and independent spirit. A young and fresh line becomes the champion of the subculture of rockers, and not only. Freedom, lightness, harmony, elegance and serenity: these are the words that return the essence of the Amiri 2020 spring-summer collection. Everything flows so calmly and naturally … this is the feeling that makes the pieces of the collection feel.
It is from the Californian streets that the brand of all those who feel rebels with style is born. Cool and effortless, Amiri clothes breathe a rock and roll soul that wants to appear natural and spontaneous.
Amiri began her career in the fashion world by making unique pieces for iconic hard rockers such as Axl Rose and Steven Tyler. His passion for rock and roll aesthetics led him to design a capsule collection for the Los Angeles Maxfield concept store, marking the launch of his eponymous luxury fashion line in 2014.
From this moment Amiri becomes that song of rebellion, revolt and freedom that has captured the heart of underground culture in no time. A designer who delves into the past to restore a unique personality to his garments. Just like rockabilly (literally slapping faces) with an insolent and audacious spirit, Mike is not afraid to bring luxury to the street style.
In the name of lightness, comfort and freedom, the famous tears of its iconic denim have become the hallmark of the brand. They become the favorite jeans of Justin Bieber and Gigi Hadid, but the designer’s creative vision certainly cannot stop at the love of denim alone. Bomber jackets, tank tops, t-shirts and jackets complete a bold and courageous outfit, but which remains faithful to its simplicity.
Sometimes the simplest items are the most complicated to make special, Mike reveals. And it is precisely in this simplicity that a lived-in look becomes the banner of all those who are not afraid to challenge conventions.
In the 1950s, the New York Times defined rockabilly-style as “a tribal disease affecting teenagers”. Illness or not, Amiri’s clothes have also received recognition from the world of industry, as in 2018 when the designer received a CFDA nomination.
