Today the MeetTheBrand lounge hosts MySkin Care, the brand founded by Jamila and Chiara, brothers-in-law and determined entrepreneurs at the helm of a brand that in a short time already has different goals. One of them is to keep a simple approach, true to their nature.
Hi Chiara and Jamila, thank you for accepting my invitation. How and when was your cosmetics brand born?
Hi Alessia, thank you for inviting us, it is a great pleasure to have a chat with you!
The brand was born from the idea of two sisters-in-law during the quarantine period, a difficult time for all of us, which profoundly marked us, but at the same time allowed us to spend more time with our loved ones and especially with ourselves. If before we were constantly absorbed by the many commitments of everyday life, in such a difficult period we had the opportunity to meditate on how important it is to take care of yourself. This was the driving force that gave us the opportunity to give life to this new project.
Why did you decide to call it “MySkin Care”?
As we have just mentioned, being, necessarily, relegated to the house allowed us to reflect and meditate, so we decided to underline two key concepts through the name of the project, namely the uniqueness of each one through the possessive adjective MY the importance of taking care of oneself even through small daily gestures with the noun CARE, hence the name MYSkin CARE.

What prompted you to take this path and what do you expect from the future?
The idea of creating this brand was born, not only from a passion that unites us towards the world of beauty, but above all, it derives from a strong desire to instill a message in those who would have followed us: that is to demonstrate that two young women can to be able to make their own way in a society still characterized by prejudice. What we hope is that this message will reach as many people as possible, who can feel mirrored by our ideology.
An anecdote from the early days that you remember with pleasure and that you want to share with Wait! Fashion readers?
In reality, there is no particular anecdote to which we can refer, but we certainly remember our moods at the beginning of this journey. We often let ourselves be overwhelmed by uncertainty about the future. We didn’t know how things were going to go and what feedback we could get. Over time, however, little by little we have seen our ideas take shape and we have received more and more acclaim from our audience. Which despite the difficulties, he saw a potential in us.

Would you tell us how a “MySkin Care” product is born? What are the strong points?
The choice to focus, during this initial phase, on organic olive oil-based products is dictated by the versatility of this ingredient, which easily adapts to different types of skin. Its properties are many: soothing, moisturizing and anti-aging. Our expectations are always higher, so we have set ourselves several goals to achieve. We would like to expand our range of products, satisfying everyone’s needs and at the same time keeping our ideology intact, providing the customer with delicate products free of artificial substances.
Is there a product in your current line to which you are particularly attached for any reason?
The face serum based on organic olive oil is the product we are most attached to as it is a fresh, young product, characterized by a light texture and immediate absorbency. It has also found great success in our community.

What relationship do you have with social media and what do you think of the beauty world on these channels?
Social media today have become real commercial platforms. The beauty sector fascinates us a lot but, like any social sector, we believe it is characterized both by people who deal with these topics because they are moved by a real passion and interest, and by people who perform and tasks for purely economic purposes. We use social media in moderation, but we believe that they are a useful way to stay up to date and to communicate with other people who have the same interests as us. In this regard, we have recently created a common Instagram account “Thecloudfeeling”, within which we offer wellness, lifestyle and beauty content.

Do you have in mind the release of some new product? And which? If you can reveal it to the readers
We recently launched a new product in our line, namely the “Mineral Gel Cleanser”, a cleansing gel with exfoliating and smoothing properties. It is a fresh scrub gel with a delicate formulation. Also suitable in the summer, as it cleanses the face. Inside there are micro granules, which allow you to cleanse and exfoliate the face without irritating the skin or generating redness, as often happens with normal scrubs. In fact, we recommend a daily use of the product. We can reveal to the readers of “Wait! Fashion” that news is coming for, we recommend that you follow us to keep up to date.

What would you say to those who still don’t know you? What distinguishes the brand in three adjectives?
Our idea of beauty reflects our personalities and our way of being, that is simple but highly motivated girls, who want to be the bearers of a message in favor of nature and respect for the environment. If we had to describe our brand through three adjectives, we would certainly use: ambitious, clean, respectful of the environment and people. Ambitious, as we hope to achieve more and more goals. Clean, because we always want to offer natural formulations, and finally Respectful, because we believe in the idea of a zero-impact beauty world, and we are working to make this happen within our reality.
