Heron Preston presents his collection in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz.

Experimentation against all limits. This is what we will see in the collaboration between Heron Preston and Mercedes-Benz.

The one between Preston and Mercedes-Benz is one of the many collaborations that demonstrates the deep bond created between the fashion and automotive sectors, a bond that has intensified even more in recent years. In this specific case, the main goal was to create something completely new. A capsule that not only used materials and elements typical of the car, but also had a sustainable approach. In fact, all the items are born from discarded materials coming from hundreds of machines which, in the hands of the designer, become unique and great fashion pieces.

You all know the airbag right? Now imagine clothes capable of exploiting the same mechanism, that is to inflate and deflate. It seems absurd and yet that’s what Heron Preston did. He therefore decided to create a collection, consisting not only of cargo pants, corsets, overalls and bags but also of miniature airbags placed inside the jackets so that they can be inflated and deflated when and if necessary.

“98% of what you see is authentic real airbags. I have kept as much as I could; I didn’t want to change too much. I kept the integrity all there ”.

The idea starts from wanting to create unique, highly experimental garments while maintaining an intact and pure design. In fact, in the collection the choice fell on rough details such as visible stitching and patches in shades of white.

It is at the wheel of his Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon that the designer imagined his collection of him, and there is no better thing he could do! The novelty is all contained in this new collaboration signed Preston and Mercedes-Benz.

The products will be released exclusively on GOAT on 10 September through a special contest.
