When we mention the name of Gucci, we certainly don’t think of anything that has to do with minimalism. A brand that wants to amaze, the tale of a 50s Hollywood, animals, insects, colors: this is the new Gucci Dècor 2021 line.
The new collection, led by the creative director Alessandro Michele and told in a historic Roman building by the photographer Simona Flamigni, takes the brand’s rich design library as a reference, presenting decorated cushions, candles, plates and furniture. The idea is not to be satisfied with just a selection of clothes but to ensure that the individual can express himself also through design, even when he is alone within the walls of the house. From here are born blankets with frayed edges and shell armchairs inspired by the Hollywood of the 50s, porcelain jewelery boxes decorated with the motifs of the Maison, embroidered velvet cushions that have shapes of animals, such as the head of a cat or a ‘ bee, vases and umbrella stands adorned with themes and prints borrowed from the Gucci collections. Wool, cashmere, silk, velvet, silver is the vast range of precious materials chosen to create all this.
Alessandro Michele decides to give up on conventional interior design, focusing everything on the eccentricity and personalization of the individual. He once again tells of a romantic, regal but surprisingly modern world, as only he is able to do. And therefore everything that normally surrounds us in a house acquires an extra touch, that is, a new life! If you want to talk about yourself through interior design, this is the right opportunity. Perhaps this is the secret to truly feeling at home.
Gucci Dècor is available in Gucci flagship stores and Gucci boutiques, online at gucci.com and in specialty stores.
