In the Alyscamp necropolis of Arles in Provence, France, the Gucci Cruise 2019 show was staged.
Alessandro Michele presented a men and women collection, totally imbued with history, bringing Dante Alighieri’s poetry to the catwalk, in fact the verses are engraved on the garments. For this Gucci Cruise 2019, the ancient and the modern, they meet therefore halfway and become one.

Vintage allure bags that look at the Gucci archives with reverence and magic. That magic in which the designer seems to believe firmly, that is, that fashion is much more than a dress.
The accessories are the protagonists of the catwalk, almost as much as the garments. Maxi earrings and headbands, headscarf, glasses, shoes and bags. Often in sharp contrast to the clothes themselves. We saw dresses in tulle with sneakers and sequins sweatshirts.
There are no diktats from above, fashion is personality.
