Thanks to an agreement with Dazed Media, Gucci will make a series of short films for the Absolute Beginners project. The shorts, that will have the cult bag Jackie 1961 as their main topic, see the special participation of very young actors and directors, who have already had the opportunity to demonstrate their incredible talent and artistic ability.
We are talking about nine stars of the current cinema scene, including protagonists of Netflix series, The Crown, Baby or films, such as the Sacrifice of the Sacred Deer. Participants will be: Kelvin Harrison Jr., Jodie Turner-Smith, Lily Gavin, Barry Keoghan, Yoshi, Emma Corrin, Arlo Parks, Benedetta Porcaroli and Elle Fanning.
The words of Benedetta Porcaroli, the famous leading actress of the Italian series Baby, about having been a director in this experience were:
I enjoyed being on the other side of the camera. I am fascinated by the study of light and perspectives. Working on the set I learned to look at all the people around me – I tried to replicate what I saw in my experiences on set.
Youthful eyes and gestures have attracted a like-minded audience who, since the release of the first trailers, have reposted the news on social media, which has already gone viral. The flavor of the short films, which portray the actresses and actors dressed in the clothes of the maison, open a peephole in the world of pop culture, creativity and lightheartedness typical of the early years that the actors are called to bring out in the videos.
The shorts will be available on dazeddigital.com and on the Gucci Youtube channel. The Premiere is scheduled for November 6th, with reserved reproduction.
