Today Wait wants to tell you the story of Golf Club Boutique, a reality born in 1986 under the arcades in the frame of the historic square of Orzinuovi, in the province of Brescia.
In the summer of 2016, the project was started to renovate the original store and join it to a new adjacent space spread over 1,200 square meters. Currently the part with entry into via Zanardelli has been completely renovated, maintaining its 4 windows, and entirely reserved for men’s collections, while the new part, which faces via Dante, has 5 large windows and houses the women’s collections instead.
Even the choice of brands has been renewed and expanded and in the new space have been created areas dedicated to welcoming the customer, such as the inner garden and the bar area, or reserved for novelties such as a selection of artistic perfumes.
The only thing that has remained unchanged is the Golf Club style and the goal of satisfying customers and serving them to the fullest.
To let you know this reality better, we interviewed the three brothers currently managing the boutique, Marco, Luca and Enrico Battaglia.
First of all, good evening and thank you for taking your time. Let’s start immediately from the first question. Who gave birth to the beautiful retail history of Golf Club Boutique?
Golf Club Boutique comes from an idea of our mother Dori Re, who opened her first boutique in 1986. With the passing of the years Golf Club has changed, but has always maintained a precise identity thanks to the presence of the owner in the choice of garments and in the service offered to our customers.
Do you point out some of the most representative brands of your reality?
From Moncler to Burberry, from Brunello Cucinelli to Balmain.
Moncler and Burberry are two important brands for us, as they represent the transition that took place in the Golf Club. Both brands have made the history of the boutique, as they represented a classic / sporty style, which over time has changed and overlooking a more fashionable proposal. Brunello Cucinelli is the DNA of our owner; a refined style, high quality in the product. Balmain represents the new Golf Club more attentive to French couture.
What were the most successful brands of last season?
Max Mara and Moschino have been very successful.
And those revelation?
Faith Connexion, C.P Company.
What could be the product or the MUST HAVE brand of this season?
For the woman, the vinyl trousers and the fur coat. For men, sneakers and hoodies, in pure streetwear style.
Which product, beyond the sales volume, gave you more satisfaction to sell and pride to propose?
We like to sell Comme des Garçons, it has an unconventional style and we appreciate customers always open to news.
I also saw in your reality the streetwear trend that is influencing both luxury, that also bringing in store historical brands like Adidas but also new street-luxury brands like GCDS.
Do you think it will be a passing phenomenon or a trend that will establish itself as definitive?
We believe that the luxury-streetwear phenomenon is not passing, but very well established, especially in young people. This is demonstrated by the fact that important designers who have developed this style have been called by haute couture fashion house, on all LV with Virgil Abloh.
Which brand is not part of your brand list but would you like to insert soon?
We would certainly like to include Off-White.
In a future of great changes, we see that you have integrated e-commerce too.
What makes it somehow unique and what are the goals you aim to achieve through online?
The omnichannel within a multi-brand store is the future of this business.
It is essential to create the right synergy between purchases, sales for the store, those on our official website and e-commerce platforms.
What characteristics must a brand have to be able to enter your brand list?
It must have global appeal, a well-defined personality and a style that joins our idea of boutiques.
Now a couple of more personal questions. What are the 3 brands that could never be missing in the personal wardrobe of you owners?
Well, our wardrobe goes from one extreme to the other but if we were to choose three, we would say Balmain, Stone Island, Neil Barrett.
What are your future plans?
Very soon a space entirely dedicated to kidswear will open inside our boutique, with all the top brands. The project will take shape at the beginning of 2019 for spring / summer, with an expansion of our boutique.
It will reach the 1300sqm of space and will help to create a new concept of boutiques, with a unique shopping experience.
