It all starts from a family memory, from a fatherly object. A trace that started the career as a designer for her own brand for Eleonora Moccia, from Rome, founder of Trenta7 in 2012, a footwear made in Italy reality with an independent character and aesthetics, and this is interesting, compared to all other proposals of the contemporary market. Her past is thus the key to reading her stylistic codes, thus making her business idea step by step projected to the future .
Eleonora, Trenta7 was born five years ago. What has changed since the day you founded your shoe brand and which aspects, however, have remained unaltered?
After five years, surely what has changed is the experience and skills acquired in the industry. What is left unchanged is the passion and the will to build more and more.
But your route starts a few years before and sees you working in important Italian footwear homes. What of those experiences persists in your creative approach?
When working for large companies you have the opportunity to learn a lot and “steal with the eyes” every minute detail. Each of these realities has given me important elements, both creative and human, that allow me to live my brand today by knowing how to evaluate and manage both the positive and negative aspects of this sector.
What is the emotional value you attribute to shoes?
The shoe for me, as I think for most women, is an element of utmost importance both emotionally and at a purely stylistic level. It can represent a style, a personality, a mood. In all of my creations, I try to put these elements in the focus to excite those who will wear them.
How did the iconic folder closure, which is the distinctive feature of Trenta7?
It was born from the memory of a work bag owned by my dad I was particularly attached to, the classic 24 hour with a dual “tuc” lock. I wanted to give it a new life, transforming it into a shoe, becoming the first Trenta7 model: the iconic “VALE”.
Since 2012 there have been collections, in September the stores will show the line for next winter. Do you always think about the same woman who will dress them up, or will she change according to the models?
The woman to whom I inspire and to whom I think about my collections is always the same: a woman who loves the sophisticated style, refined but at the same time ironic and enterprising.
What are your future projects?
Future projects are obviously linked to the amplification of what is still a small growing reality. The main goal is to expand the distribution network more and more to become Trenta7 a well-known, recognized and appreciated brand around the world.
