Music and fashion are the two aspects in common that lead Fred Perry and the emerging British designer Nicholas Daley to collaborate for a capsule collection for the summer season.
The inspiration comes from the iconic reggae musician Peter Tosh. A figure seen by Nicholas Daley as authentic but above all revolutionary. Devoted to martial arts, he used to wear this sportswear even during his concerts, as if it were a real uniform. Uniform that has been taken up by the two brands and revolutionized with a pinch of functionality and details and shapes typical of Fred Perry. We are therefore faced with a capsule consisting of two polo shirts featuring patches designed by the illustrator Gaurab Thakaliun, a parka and a bomber jacket with ‘Fred Perry‘ written on the back. The color palette is called retro. Yes, because it ranges from Golden Orange, to New Maroon, from Khaki to Anthracite color, giving the collection a contemporary and at the same time unexpected flavor.
And speaking of this collection Daley states:
“I feel there is a good connection between my brand and Fred Perry, fruit of the constant celebration of different cultures and music. This is why I collaborated with Fred Perry, because I feel that our values are aligned: in addition to being both British, we can boast a strong connection with the British subcultures ”.
The connection is evident between the two brands. It also catches the eye taking a first look at the collection. Everything appears in its place. Between color contrasts, shapes, details and a hint of retro, we read the signature of Fred Perry x Nicholas Daley.
The collaboration is available online at fredperry.com and in select Fred Perry Stores.
