Clean silhouette, sporty at times, sensitivity and exhaustive technique come together in Coperni aesthetics, one of the most talked about brands of the moment.
Founded in 2013 by Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant, it takes its name, as can be understood, from Renaissance astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus whose mathematical and astronomical research on heliocentrism inspires desingers visual world.
Copernicus is in fact considered, for the uninitiated, one of the greatest geniuses of his time, thanks to his Earth and planets motion theory. In its heliocentric system (known, since then, as Copernic system), all planets revolve around Sun, recognizing Earth as a planet like the others.
Sébastien Meyer (creative director and co-founder) and Arnaud Vaillant (CEO and co-founder) met ten years ago at their Parisian fashion school. It was love at first sight humanly and professionally. Sébastien studied fashion design and modeling, Arnaud was involved in fashion business and management. Their complementarity has always been fundamental.
With their respective experiences in Balenciaga and Chanel studios, the two made their dream come true by launching their own brand.
In 2015 they were appointed creative directors of historic French brand Courrèges, but after two years they left, dedicating themselves completely to Coperni.
Coperni won ANDAM’s Creative Label Prize in 2014, a recognition for the label’s creative and commercial potential, and was also finalist for the LVMH Prize in 2015.
Visiting Coperni instagram profile and site, at first glance, what stands out is the avant-garde and innovative aesthetics, but not only. In fact, what distinguishes Parisian brand is also cooperative and social spirit that on several occasions has placed it at forefront, seeing it collaborate with creatives and non-profit organizations.
If we talk about Coperni, however, it cannot be denied that showpieces are its unmistakable bags. These are real sculptural accessories with unconventional shapes and a basic and modern style. One above all is the swipe model with the characteristic arch shape, made of leather, available in different sizes and colors with a price between 300 and 500 euros.
Object of the desire of many, it was flaunted by artists of the caliber of Dua Lipa, together with influencers such as Amina Muaddi and Eleonora Carisi.
Coperni bags have become such a hallmark of the Parisian brand that continues, year after year, to amaze with its new creations.
