CONVERSE OPENS ITS ARCHIVES AND PRESENTS THREE NEW MODELS
Vinyls are back. Polaroids are very popular. And Converse offers three new models of Chuck Taylor 70s, made with vintage prints, typical of the American brand. All this at the time of the robots and Instagram as a mirror of the post-liquid society.
Generation Z wants more, or discovering the past. And above all, it wants to dress like we used to. The vintage is the most popular and the archives are rediscovered. The brand has understood this and this small collection is the result.
FROM THE BASKETBALL FIELDS TO THE STREET: A STORY THAT LASTS FORTY YEARS
«In the seventies, Chuck Taylor went on to be used mainly on the basketball court to be adopted on the street as a lifestyle sneaker. In 1983 Converse used a graphic motif on the shoe for the first time, creating a camouflage print. Later, in 1988, fluorescent animal prints were introduced and in 1991 a patriotic American flag print was applied. In the following years, Converse used various figures and models on its iconic Chuck line, as well as high quality materials, all part of the brand’s heritage.» They explain from the company.
«More recently, Converse has taken a series of models from its archives for its collaboration with Brain Dead in the autumn of 2018, with two Chuck 70s in canvas divided with two different prints.» And today? After the presentation of the last collection, «now, Converse has made available a new trio of Chuck 70s, each made in only one of the prints that have been mixed and combined with OG glue. One pair has zebra stripes, the other has leopard spots, while the third has a mimetic appearance.» They conclude.
