In a surreal place, the Romeo Gigli griffe returns to the fore after years of silence, thanks to the creative direction of the young Alessandro De Benedetti, ex Mila Schön, who debuts with his SS20 collection.
Nicknamed “CloudBusting”, the SS20 collection by Romeo Gigli reveals oblique shapes and sensual lightness thanks to the use of precious materials, thus renewing the charm of the bias and working on the cut and the construction between drapes, multilayer ruffles and cocoon volumes.
Here the suspended lightness of Romeo’s woman is wrapped in a cocoon of tulle and thoughts and lives at the borders of time.
His new identity is revealed through 16 iconographic shots that tell of the action before the movement, the tension of gaze in the shadows, the emotional moment of two women who apparently are committed to preserving the order and integrity of “Time”, in a corridor that surrounds everything, where only “Time” can break in and subtract something, as in a surreal story by Peter J. Hammond.
It is the young Szilveszter Makó, visionary photographer, who breaks into the scene and captures the essence of Romeo Gigli’s new collection, playing transversely with the drama of light and the spontaneity of the subjects, giving life to photographic shots embellished and emphasized by the essential touch of natural light, where emblematic actions become a space-time continuum.
