A career not yet written for his young age, but the future already looks bright for the designer Charles de Vilmorin, since his work was appreciated, from the beginning in the fashion world, by a pioneer like Jean Paul Gualtier.
Philippe Benacin, chief executive officer of the Interparfums SA group, also has great confidence in his future work. “Audacity, elegance, timeless style and originality are the foundations of the heritage of Rochas – said Benacin, – These are also the values that define the work of Charles de Vilmorin, thus creating a perfect synergy between our two worlds. Charles’s youth, as well as his talent and that touch of rebellion that characterizes him, will offer Rochas a new life in the years to come. We are delighted that Charles is part of the new era of our brand ”.
On the other hand, a second factor that contributed to the appointment of the young designer to the role of creative director was the intertwining of the roots of De Vilmorin’s family with the maison. In fact, Louise de Vilmorin, a well-known writer and great-aunt of Charles, was a friend of Hélène Rochas, who was wife of Marcel the founder of the brand.
In this regard, the new director said: “I am extremely honored to join the Maison Rochas as Artistic Director. Rochas is a fashion house that holds a special place in my heart, for my family roots and for its rich and inspiring stylistic heritage. I can’t wait to add my personal touch and reinterpret the codes of this beautiful maison”.
