Bella Hadid is the star of Jean Paul Gaultier’s ready-to-wear campaign.
Florence Tétier is the new creative director.
The designer opened the dance by launching a capsule collection dedicated to the marine world and to do so she involved six guest designers: Christa Bösch and Cosima Gadient of Ottolinger, Alejandro Gómez Palomo of Paloma Spain, Nix Lecourt Mansion, Marvin M’Toumo and Alan Crocetti. If the launch took place last May 28, the great advertising campaign dedicated to the collection was also unveiled at the beginning of the week. The protagonist is Bella Hadid alongside Qaher Harhash and Omar Sesay.
In the adv film, shot by Pat Aldinger, directed by Charlotte Wales and set at the bottom of the sea, the model – wearing the brand’s new creations – transforms into a beautiful mermaid. The iconic dress worn in the video by Bella Hadid debuted for the first time on the Spring / Summer 1996 catwalk of Gaultier’s Cyber Baba: an ecru mesh dress with marine stripes.
“Les Marins” is the title of the new advertising campaign.
Jean Paul Gaultier, after a hiatus of six long years, returns to prêt-à-porter with an inclusive and genderless collection, in a limited edition, which includes comfortable, elegant and refined garments.
The theme of the genderless collection is the marine one, in this limited edition collection, the Maison’s legendary garments are back, rich in history, such as the famous marine sweaters and sailor caps.
Bella Hadid, Qaher Harhash and Omar Sesay are the protagonists!
One of the images from the campaign shows Bella Hadid in all her sensuality, wearing a red headdress in the shape of a sailing ship. At his side we find Harhash and Sesay dressed in sailor hats and shirts. He made various pieces in gold and silver, designs inspired by Gaultier’s knotted bandanas and famous cone bras, such as those worn by Madonna. The collection also includes unique jewels created by the famous Alan Crocetti.
