Venice, a stage to look inside ourselves, 70s aesthetics. Thus, Anthony Vaccarello presents the SS 2022 men’s collection by Saint Laurent.
Anthony Vaccarello put on a scene an avant-garde but romantic show that accompanies us not only in the universe of Saint Laurent but also in a journey through ourselves. The clothes in fact came to life on the island of Certosa, in Venice, in an immense installation formed by mirrors and different plant compositions. A strong contrast between kaleidoscopic atmosphere and dense and wild vegetation.
The experimental installation called Green Lens is the work of Doug Aitken who calls it “a living work of art“.
“Green Lens is a living work of art. It is both a work of art, an installation and a stage. It is like a lighthouse, where you can travel and live a very personal experience, while it also transmits light, ideas and questions. A focal point that allows all of us to share our ideas and visions for the post-Covid future… a celebration and an investigation into the future.”
The goal? Trigger a dialogue between nature, landscape and future. Create a harmonious world consisting of innovation, advancement, art and natural environment.
A perfect balance between man and nature, like the one recreated at the beginning of the fashion show where the model walks on the waters of Venice accompanied by choral music in an almost supernatural and sacred atmosphere. A combination of art, history and culture that have always inspired the collections of the brand.
The looks mix a Gothic style, almost Victorian, and Rock’n Roll in contrast to fluctuating fabrics. Venice is not only the location of the fashion show but also a source of inspiration: rich fabrics and strong colors recall the tapestries of Venetian furniture. All in contemporary and cheeky silhouettes. A contemporary vision of clothing for men linked to tradition and tailoring.
