After having surprised us with unexpected collaborations last year, Anti Social Social Club presents a lookbook the spring / summer 2020 season, released on March 28th. The shots of the lookbook are very surprising, more than the collection, dog puppies accompanied by models in simple poses reinvent the image and identity of the brand.
The visual approach is truly rewarding and, as usual, capable of not going unnoticed, further enhanced by the inevitable macro-branding imprinted on the back of the sweatshirts, the main feature of the Los Angeles label.
“HUNG UP“, the name of the collection, is the perfect combination of futuristic and nostalgic, with an increasingly minimal approach to streetwear. So the irreverent brand shows us that it wants to widen its horizons more and more, proposing unpublished graphics sometimes characterized by slogans like “LAST TIME WAS THE LAST TIME” or “HATE”.
In addition to new slogans, the collection introduces new chromatic reinterpretations, symbols, fabrics and tye-dye prints that already establish themselves as absolute must-haves.
Hoodies, t-shirts and sweatpants are the main protagonists of the collection, enhanced by a wide range of dizzying prints and camouflage and leopard print motifs.
Seen the recent attention to accessories, also signed yoga mats, car key rings, iPhone cases, socks and gloves are offered for sale. Accessories that encourage a complete wardrobe, naturally enriched by the iconic distorted ASSC logo.
The label, founded by the former Stüssy manager Neek Lurk, has also collaborated with the Japanese brand Hysteric Glamor on several pieces of the collection. By combining their distinctive motifs, the duo created a small modification of outerwear and accessories. The ASSC logo and Hysteric’s illustrated pin-up models embellish a military shirt, a crew neck sweater and a t-shirt.
The typical and comfortable oversize garments are ideal for the current climate in which all we can and must do is stay at home. For this reason, loyal streetwear fans have already sold out the new collection on the official Anti Social Social Club website.
However, we hope for a return, too many times these limited edition collections leave no room for new buyers to discover and enjoy the new creations.
ASSC isn’t the only brand to have collaborated with a Japanese brand for the SS20 : discover the collaboration between SUICOKE and ALANUI
