During these days became viral on the web a photo showing a Triple S Balenciaga sneaker, revisited with the addition of Adidas co-branding. Rumors say it could be part of a collaboration between the two brands.
Waiting for this news to be confirmed, we talk about a well-established Adidas collaboration instead: the one with Fear of God.
On the 22th December 2020, Jerry Lorenzo, founder of Fear of God, announced a “long-term partnership” with one of the most famous sports brands in the world: Adidas.
Just as Kanye West did with YEEZY, Lorenzo, in search of greater stability, closed the relationship with Nike to open a new chapter with what is probably the most direct competitor of the latter.
The goal of this partnership is, in fact, very ambitious. It’s about resurrecting the Adidas Basketball division, unleashing its potential and giving it the attention it deserves. Therefore, a real sub-label, Fear Of God Athletics, has been founded, destined to the creation of fashionable activewear and specific basketball products.
A union destined to last if we consider that until today, apart from some preview garments seen on to the designer himself, there is no news about the date of the first drop and its content.
However, in the meantime an exclusive merchandise exhibition was organized in Shanghai in January, designed to present the collective brand but that “are NOT part of the athletics collection coming later this year” as stated by Jerry Lorenzo in his official Instagram account.

So we will have to wait a few more months before finally seeing and wearing the Adidas x Fear of God garments, but, from the great work that seems to be behind it, expectations are getting higher and higher.
