On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Maison, Gucci once again finds a way to narrate its DNA rooted in Italian history subtlety and with good taste. He does it through an analogue initiative that takes you back in time, which talks about Gucci but not only.
Palazzo Settemanni, Florence, 1953. It is from here that the historical address assumes a central value in the history of the Maison which is now 100 years old. The headquarters in Via delle Caldaie marked, in fact, fundamental milestones for the brand. First factory, then showroom, sometimes becoming a laboratory and now standing as the eternal temple of the brand, an archive that collects and keeps the secrets of the fashion house from the early 1920s to today.
In full Alessandro Michele style, no detail has been left to chance. The building is spread over 5 floors, each dedicated to a different theme and historical period. The interior decorations are inspired by the classic nineteenth-century ornaments, the trompe l’oeil painting technique of the eighteenth century and the most characteristic Florentine paintings and frescoes of the seventeenth century.
On the other hand, Gucci is synonymous of Italy in the world and with its centuries-old experience it has always been an image of the culture, art and history of the nation it represents, looking to the future as much as to the past, talking about modernity and avant-garde through classicism and opulence, changing the guiding style and creative directors, but always remaining faithful to their values and their message.
