If you try thinking about Eastpak brand, and the first thing that comes to your mind are the monochrome backpacks and bags with bizarre prints used for get away from the city and used for school, then, only Maison Margiela can be able to change your mind.
MM6 Maison Margiela line, on the occasion of Milan Digital Fashion Week, staged a collection with a reverse soul, with deconstructed clothes, upside down and a grunge vintage touch as only the brand can do. But the unexpected news, despite it was also perfectly in line with the perspective of the show, was the collaboration with Eastpak, the minimalist American brand known all over the world for sustainable backpacks and fanny packs with a Scandinavian-inspired design.
The accessories designed for Margiela look like assemblages created by Picasso and Duchamp; they abandon themselves to a visual unusualness. Backpacks, fanny packs, clutches and oversized bags become reversible, featuring an overturned canvas fabric with visible stitching, pins and symbolic writings that reflect the aesthetic trend popular among school desks.
The collaboration, arriving in September, will be available with five silhouettes differentiated by three colors.
