On Thursday evening, at the ‘Lido Milano‘, Sunnei had its last fashion show in the huge empty swimming pool. The brand, created by Simone Rizzo and Loris Messina, was born in 2014 and immediately approached fashion with audacity.
He renewed the men’s wardrobe, played with irony, with contrasts and made the street style (typical of the new generations) a distinctive feature appreciated by the sector. Even if their shows do not have a concept, a categorization too old for the two founders, this catwalk presents a style more inclined to the minimal line, without giving up the youthful contemporaneity.
The particularity is mainly related to the accessory: studded shoes, bags with re-invented proportions, contrasting colors or multicolor polka dots. A leitmotiv are the ‘live‘ seams and hems, that is, clearly visible, hardly worked, left in their rawest state. All this, combined with a further lengthening of the silhouette as regards the upper part of the body: jackets, shirts and tops are lengthened, increasingly resembling caftans and tunics that recall an oriental style.
The range of materials goes from denim to cotton to leather and nylon. Even the color palette doesn’t line up, neither warm nor cold, neither bright nor dull. A mix of textures and colors meets to give life to a new concept for Sunnei, which meets a probably more adult awareness than the previous collections (even if always incredibly contemporary).
