This year New Balance has focused heavily on collaborations, WATPS, Spray Rats and KITH were just a few of the partners.
But now it’s up to Justin Saunders, better known as JJJJound.
It is not the first time that the two collaborate, in fact their partnership made its debut in 2018, with a 990v3 “Urban Gray”.
But let’s take a step back, who is JJJJound?
Justin Saunders is a Montreal-based Canadian creative, started his career in 2006 at the age of 35, with the opening of the JJJJound site.
Initially it was born as the artist’s personal moodboard, where photos were posted without a common thread, but aesthetically in perfect harmony.
His minimal universe soon became a source of inspiration for many artists and creatives, influencing the world of fashion, at the levels of Heron Preston or Virgil Abloh.
The only difference lies in Justin’s shy and reserved nature, who managed to make a huge impact, while remaining almost always hidden behind his own shadow.
So we come to 2017, where the definition JJJJound aesthetic perfectly encloses a certain type of taste: minimal, elegant and clean.
But let’s go back to his latest collab, the shoe chosen as the protagonist is the New Balance 992.
It is obviously characterized by the minimal style and simplicity that the artist places in his creations, without ever resulting in the banal.
We find a mesh and suede upper that goes from shades of gray to those of brown, a color scheme taken from the last collaboration.
Here too the New Balance logo is black and the laces are off-white.
Unfortunately we are not yet informed on the day of the release, stay with us for further updates.
