“No Space, Just A Place”
Having already mentioned one of the rising stars of the South Korean landscape, the streetwear brand Young And Sang , you will certainly not be surprised to know that the latest Gucci cultural project is based precisely in Seoul.
To the art museum Daelim to be exact.
A new artistic chapter that aims to support the rich contemporary cultural landscape of South Korea.
The exhibition will take place until 12 July and can also be visited virtually through a video at 360 °.
Curated by Myriam Ben Salah , known for his radical vision of beauty, the cultural project was born with the reflections of Alessandro Michele on the heterotopia.
The creative director of the Maison Gucci investigates the theme of diversity , a new definition of what could be a “other space” : a place to build a different and desirable future, with new ways for human beings to relate to each other and the surrounding environment.
The themes evoked are displacement, biotechnology, queering and hybridization, in an exploration of the potential of narration and fiction in telling stories of diversity that celebrate individual freedom.
The basis for a completely new “togetherness” .
Each installation is inspired by future and fantastic myths that give life to new alternative and utopian spaces, immersing the viewer in a world of humor and magical realism .
The selected artists, South Korean and beyond, are also unconventional: independent , alternative and mostly grown in the 90s, they prefer pure art to success, all other than mainstream .
