From midnight on 20 April the first two episodes of the documentary about Michael Jordan, “The Last Dance” are finally avaiable on Netflix.
The release, scheduled for june after the finals of NBA, has been anticipated, due to the lockdown and the global pandemic, thanks to the request of the fans, accepted by Netflix and ESPN.
The Docu-series, divided in 10 episodes, tells the incredible story of Chicago Bulls during 1997 and 1998, years in which they won the National Title.
They were compared as a Rock Band, in terms of popularity, caracterized by the particular personalities of Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman, (Especially Dennis Rodman) and Michael Jordan as Front man.
The masterful direction of Jason Hehir and an exclusive footage granted by the coach Phil Jackson and MJ in person give added value to the shooting, in fact a troupe had the honor of following all the events of the team in first person, for a whole year, all this makes the vision of this masterpiece more than mandatory.
Additionally, over the course of a year, the director also interviewed exactly 106 people, including Ex U.S. presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.
“The Last Dance” has in fact generated very high numbers of viewers, around6.3 million for the first episode and 5.8 million for the second, absolutely predictable estimates, given all the hype created in the months of waiting and an exceptional cast.
For now we are only aware of the 20% of this work and it is therefore a bit early to draw conclusions, but we are sure that this Docu-series has all the credentials to become one of the best Sport Documentary of all times.
