Even if the coronavirus has blocked all the catwalk show, Ralph Lauren has nevertheless released the lookbook of the new collection for autumn 2020. The theme continues to be a country and military reinterpretation of tailored pieces.
Remaining, therefore faithful to the tailoring of the wardrobe, the collection features tight-fitting wool trousers paired with college jackets and workwear-themed vests, together with a V-neck sweater with Aztec print. The graphics of the garments are inspired by natural themes, such as hunting badges, forest reserves and national parks. The setting of the photographic shots, on the other hand, recreates a cinematic mood, particularly in the film “The Great Gatsby”. The man who is represented is the true American dandy of the 70s, but with a modern reinterpretation that leaves room for more pushed garments such as jeans with patches and embroidery or jackets with all-over graphics.
In general, this lookbook does not cry out to revelation, but in any case Ralph Lauren has proved once again to be able to bring a refined collection that is faithful to its stylistic character.
