Gucci has introduced a feature in its app that allows users to virtually try out its famous Sneakers Ace, a cornerstone of the maison.
Gucci is intensifying its efforts in the world of technology by launching an augmented reality in-app shopping function. Created in collaboration with the technology startup Wannaby, this function allows customers to “try” practically the shoes and buy them immediately from the brand’s e-commerce site.
At the moment the function, currently compatible only with iOS platforms, is only active for the Sneaker Ace, but this marks a real step forward for the virtual shopping sector.
In fact, users can browse the product and then view it by simply pointing the camera at their feet.
Furthermore, the tool is also designed to encourage social engagement as fans can save their photos by “wearing” shoes and share them on various social media.
This initiative in the augmented reality field is not the first one for the Italian fashion house. In fact, we recall that during the Salone del Mobile last April fair, the company launched a similar virtual instrument to showcase its Gucci Décor collection.
