New materials, an unedited collection and the same ironic-experimental aesthetic. This is what emerges from the interview with Antonella Falasca, founder and designer of the Poshead bags and accessories brand. From the last interview released for Wait! it’s been over a year. On that occasion she told about the birth of the project, which took place in 2012, and what were the objectives for the future, which seems to have been realized, since the current ones are the direct consequence of the previous ones, proving that if there are solid foundations can still get a place in the fashion world.
Antonella, from the last interview you released for Wait!, how did Poshead evolve?
It was achieved through the introduction of different materials and models: while still maintaining the Agender collection, I decided to create more eclectic and feminine bags. In the last, for example, the dominant element are the fringes, but also the colored resin glasses and the chrome-plating.
Made in Italy. A word over-used today, especially because it seems so simple for fashion brands to define themself as a brand that produces in Italy. What distinguishes the real craftsmanship from the fictitious one and how does your reality relate to this?
Often the term made in Italy is used improperly for products that are simply assembled in Italy. My bags are not only made in Italy, but every element, from leather to the materials used for glasses and finishing, is produced here.
What are the new models and in what do they differ from the previous ones?
As I said before, the Coachella collection is certainly more conspicuous and feminine than the previous ones. The iconic models, such as the mini backpacks or the Poshsteam bags, have been covered with colored fringes and have a chic hippie allure. I also created a Tattoo capsule collection, created in collaboration with the Freakshow Paradise Tattoo studio in Milan: the bags are “tattooed” in the true sense of the word and you can customize them according to your tastes.
At the customer level, how do people respond when they know Poshead bags?
Our creations have a strong appeal on the public. They are particularly appreciated by the most adventurous and emancipated personalities. The fact that each bag can be adapted to your tastes through the choice of glasses is certainly an added value that attracts customers.
Future projects?
For the near future I’m planning a line of glasses. In addition, I will soon launch the online shop.
