TREND ALERT A/W17-18: FEATHERS

From the series “sometimes they come back”, the feathers have appeared among the most important fashion shows of fashion week and today, this is the trend that can not miss in your wardrobe. Extremely light and fluffy, the feathers decorate clothing and accessories.

From the ’20s to today, the feathers have come a long way. Since always, the trend is to pull the feathers details to haute couture gowns or elegant creations to show off at exclusive parties. Bring all over, however, they have a slightly more couture flavor. Sure, the looks at Balenciaga’s are pure exaggeration. Wrapped in fluffy feathers from head to toe, the models nearly disappeared underneath the thick pillow-like layers. But the discreet feather details we spotted on sleeves at Alexander McQueen’s, or the little plumes embroidered all over the feathery dresses at Calvin Klein’s, showed us that winds of change are in the air.

But now it’s time to open your mind to fashion and discover the feathered details even for daywear! In fact, for this season, the feathers are flying on even the most casual clothes, to give a glamorous touch and draw the eye.

In total black version or super colorful, we find feathers in two totally new keys, elegant version of pants, skirts or chokers clothes or street-version on the sweatshirts sleeves stolen sportswear.

But for all those who still need a little getting used to this trend in their closets, is it possible to start just with a single feathers accessory like a shoe, a bag or a hat.

Today the feathers are also blend with new fabrics, simply applied to cotton, leather and linen, a new mix then, that makes us look feathers in a fresh and new.

The trend is therefore to enhance and make even elegant a sporty style, with lightness and irony, but above all, the ability of the mix and match and good taste, become the basic requirements to show off the trend feathers without smudging, even in the city.

This is why the advice “less is more” is a must, because you just need a little touch of them to sublimate the look.
