Urban Outfitters (UO) is a well-know American brand, born in 1970 at the hands of three univeristy students from Philadelphia.
Initially the brand was called “Free People” and it was born with an idea: to sell second hand clothes, accessories and home furniture to college students.
Six years later, the name changes to “Urban Outfitters”, and along with the name, the initial policy with which the shop was born also expands.
Hence the motto: Express your lifestyle !!
UO focuses on lifestyle. The mono-brand brand BDG (and not only !!), with design director Lizzie Dawson, has expanded its vision by creating a concept store.
Design elements and clothing items with their own identity have been the strength to carry on this new “concept” coming from America but contaminated by London style, giving it a touch of internationality.
We can find UO in Italy, precisely in Milan in Piazza San Babila, exactly in those walls that gave Fiorucci the launch.
Four floors dedicated to women’s, men’s, homewear and lifestyle collections, gender neutral dressing rooms and a mix of trendy brands such as Levi’s, Adidas, Fila, Calvin Klein, Dr. Martens, Vans and many others.
Definitely cool collab, attention to style and that mood of freshness in the clothes are the key to the success of this well-known brand that maintains a unisex identity in its basic line.
Point in favor? The Vintage.
In the “Urban Renewal Clothing” section, present in the store and in the online shops, second-hand clothes from brands such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Lacoste and many others, have been adapted and customized, giving them a new stylistic identity.
The shapes and silhouettes are the center of this well-known brand that follows current trends but is able to rework them with personality and originality, creating street garments with a current cut but with a retro style, paying attention to textures, colors, materials and graphics.

It can be defined as “new vintage”, creating or reusing clothes with a new/trendy silhouette but with an old flavor.
Sweatshirts, crop tops, oversized joggers, jeans, bucket hats and baguette bags are the must-haves of this flagship store always on the ball and super trendy.
